| BEDFORD RIVER FESTIVAL 2010 |
BRITISH KEMPO SOCIETY
BEDFORD RIVER FESTIVAL 2010
17TH-18TH JULY
Everybody welcome on our mat area to train and demo
We've got the same size plot as we have had in previous times. So all welcome to come train and soak up the atmosphere. Please feel free to bring advertising with you as this is the 2nd largest out door festival after Notting Hill. Last time it was superb with people coming and enjoying the warm mats and the good company. Again we will be staying down by the river so if want to stay feel free. There is a fantastic fireworks display in the evening, and loads of other stuff going on all weekend. A time to meet old friends and make new ones as well

| PJ Downtime; journals disabled |
So, our hosts suspended the site due to server load. Seems that something in the journals system was submitting loads of queries to the database.
Hosts have agreed to reinstate the site on the condition that I disable the journals. This has been done, so please don't flood me with posts asking where the journals have gone.
The data is unaffected; I've just removed the user interface.
I believe that the problems were caused by spammers exploiting the shoutboxes in the journals. If I can convince the hosts of this, I may be able to disable this feature and reinstate the journals. If not, you'll have to wait for Clawshrimp (which I will accelerate), in which your journals will be ported to new blog system. |

| Official PJ 2010 thread |
 PJ 2010 is officially on.
It will be on the 6th Feb 2010 in the Edward Herbert Building at Loughborough university (details on how to find the dojo and university can be found here)
I still have to book the dojo, but I have been told we can definately have it. I'm looking to book it from 11am -4pm so we have plenty of time.
So far confirmed instructors are (please forgive mistakes re: titles/grades/styles)
Renshi Ben Ledwick - 6th Dan BKS [Kempo Kid]
Sensei Mike McGarry - 6th Dan Goshin-Jitsu ryu [Mad dog]
Sensei Steve Delaney - 5th Dan Koryu Bujutsu. (Classical jujutsu kenjutsu & iai) [Gunyo Kogusoku]
Sensei Karl T Grubis - 4th Dan Goshin Jitsu [Sumosan]
I will send out more details/keep the thread updated with any changes as they develop.
I intend to also book a table for people at either a local indian/chinese or japanese restaurant for the saturday.
If people need somewhere to stay I can try and suggest somewhere or find crash space.
I can't wait! |

| Back from the dead |
No explanation from my old hosts to explain our prolonged absence :/
I'm just glad to have been able to grab everything I could from the database and setup our new home here.
New site coming soon, still needs some work and I wanted to get PJ back ASAP, so we're using the old site for a while longer.
Please report any problems with the site here. |

| We're back, Yay! |
Not entirely sure what happened yet, but we're finally back. woo!
Seems we might have lost some posts, notably between late Tuesday evening and Saturday(ish) when the 'troubles' started. Apologies for that, will see if our hosts have any explanation. |

| Our friend Rob W |
It is with great sadness that I announce the sad loss of Robert Wallis, also known as Rob W, on this forum.
Robert died this morning near to his family and home in Caerphilly.
I know anyone who has ever known Rob will feel a very great loss.
Rob has left a loving wife Jenny and beautiful twin daughters, Nansi & Eleri.
Ours thoughts are with all of Rob’s family and friends. |

| A different kind of announcement |
Not to steal away some of Glo and Xencat's thunder but PJ seems big enough for more news.
At 12:39 in the afternoon of May 04, 2008 Cocoapuff gave birth to a 7lbs 9oz little girl.
Francisca is small, cute, fully quaffed, beautiful, and she can go about 20 degrees bewond the splits. All the nurses were talking ballet.
I barely made it to the hospital in time. Since the weather has started getting nicer I have been taking the train it to work. So I was without a vehicle when my wife called to tell me that her water had broken and EMTs were on the way. I had to get my manager to drive me home so I could pack some things and race over there. I had about 40 minutes to spare.
Now I am home for the night and Marivic is going to be in for a couple of days.
Happy, happy

| An Announcement! |
I would like to proudly announce the engagement of glo to xencat.
As we were the first PJ couple to find each other through PlanetJitsu, we thought we should share this with you.
Thanks to all the PJ peeps who run the board for making a great place, as well as those people who supported us through the difficult long distance era of our relationship.
All the best,
xencat
